CHRISTMAS TRAIN JOURNEY TO LAPLAND!

I hope you are enjoying your journeys with me.  Tonight I am going to take you to Lapland.
Our journey starts in Llangollen, famous for the Eisteddfod held there each July since 1947. Musicians, singers and folk dancers compete in marquees erected near the river.

The bridge in this picture spans the Dee above a salmon leap, it has four arches and is called St Asaph's bridge, it is known locally as one of the seven wonders of Wales and is believed to date from the 12th century although it has been altered over the centuries.

From this bridge we arrive at the station which can be seen on the right of this picture.

There is usually a very welcoming waiting room at the station which boasts a coal fire.

The picture of the river below shows a frozen  river. Note the steam, Santa's Special is ready, better be quick!

All aboard the train to Lapland, plenty of coal.

Here is Richard sitting in the carriage with its Christmas decorations,
the whistle has blown (toot, toot) and we are off!

What lovely scenery!
Oh, here we are, arrived in Lapland, I wonder where Santa is?

Lovely views
Homeward bound
