BUSY HARVEST & SCENES FROM LOGAN GARDENS

This farmer is very busy bringing in his corn

Oh hello, we are in these interesting gardens near Whithorn Logan Gardens

Look at this Ted, isn't it fun? We are so high

What big trees

This is a bit prickly
Can you see the fish?

MERRY AUTUMN DAYS

I recently found this poem about Autumn written by Charles Dickens

'Tis pleasant on a fine spring morn
to see the buds expand;
'Tis pleasant in the summer time
To see the fruitful land;
'Tis pleasant on a winter's night
To sit around the blaze,
But what are joys like these, my boys,
To merry autumn days!

We hail the merry autumn days,
When leaves are turning red;
Because they're far more beautiful
Than anyone has said;
We hail the merry harvest time,
The gayest of the year,
The time of rich and bounteous crops,
Rejoicing and good cheer.

A CELTIC PRAYER

Deep peace of the running waves to you.

Deep peace of the flowing air to you.

Deep peace of the quiet earth to you.

Deep peace of the shining stars to you.

Deep peace of the son of peace to you.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RICHARD

It is my eldest son's birthday today. The following photos were taken five years ago!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RICHARD

MORNING HYMN - WIND OF GOD

On Sunday our preacher was Miss Wendy Ross-Barker. She has written the following hymn which I thought worthy of sharing with you.

Wind of God, blow strongly,
Break the walls of hate;
Sweep away divisions;
Open wide love's gate.
Heal and cleanse and strengthen
Hearts that still are cold
And, in every language,
Let your truth be told.

Harmonising Spirit,
Spread your flame of peace -
Burning brighter, stronger,
Light of love increase.
Fill with warmth and brightness
Every darkened place.
Let your joy and radiance
Shine on every face.

Gentle, dove-like Spririt,
Soothing frightened hearts,
Strenghen and encourage
Till all fear departs.
Then strong cries for justice
Will at last be heard;
Ears, long closed, will listen,
By these voices stirred.

Come then, lively Spririt,
Fill this world of pain.
End the reign of violence,
Set us free again .....
Free from all oppression,
Let the fighting cease;
Enmity behind us,
Build your world of peace.

THIS MORNING'S THOUGHT - WHAT IS LIFE...

(Port William)

ON WE GO AGAIN

"I say Ted, where are we off to today?"
Looks like Garlieston
What is he digging for? Ragworms?

I wish I could go for a sail!
These are fishing boats

This must be a very old standing stone, Kirkmadrine
What is this cow looking at?
Can this bea cow shower?

ISLE OF WHITHORN & ST NINIAN'S CHAPEL

 We visited St Ninian's Chapel on the Isle of Whithorn. St Ninian was one of the most significant men who eveer set food in Scotland. It was on this little isle of Whithorn that he built a church which is said to have been the first stone church erected to the glory of God in Great Britain.
