BREAKFAST TIME LITTLE WHITE RABBIT

Oh, this looks nice, I usually have cornflakes, this is something called prunes and peaches!
Followed by Egg, Bacon, Sausage, Beans and Mushrooms, I will be getting fat!
(Be careful little white rabbit!)

MORNING HYMN

St Just in Roseland Church
Morning comes with light all-cheering,
Shades of night have fled apace;
Source of light, by Thine appearing,
From our minds all darkness chase;
Thou hast blest us in our sleep;
Through the day direct and keep.

Man goes to his work till evening
Brings again the needed rest;
Grant that we, Thy grace receiving,
May in all we do be blest;
And wherever we may be
Find our joy in pleasing Thee.

(James Englebert Vanner 1831-1906)

(This hymn is not sung much these days and is taken from the old Methodist Hymn Book)
I will be putting more about the above church on the blog in the coming days

LITTLE WHITE RABBIT GOES TO SLEEP

I am going on a coach tomorrow, I wonder what a coach is? I'd better go to sleep, Goodnight
Goodnight Little White Rabbit, sweet dreams

LITTLE WHITE RABBIT VISITS ST IVES

I think you call that the sea

I rather like sitting on walls

I think I might be slipping off
Just look at that sand

MORNING PICTURE

Here is a picture of some daisies - did you ever make daisy chains? They are pretty little flowers.

'Daisies are our silver, Buttercups our gold
These are all the treasures we can have and hold'.

I have already used the above verse in a previous blog but I like it and it makes me think of school days as it was a favourite morning assembly hymn.

NIGHT TIME MEDITATION

Night falls over St Ives

Through the long night watches
May Thine angels spread
Their white wings above me
Watching round my bed.

LITTLE WHITE RABBIT JOINS THE WALKING PARTY

Here we all are ready for our first walk

Our first walk was across the fields, along the coastal path and down into St Ives
Little White Rabbit hears something I wonder what it can be?

Time for a rest

It looks as if there is building in progress!

THE LAND AWAKENS

Awake, the land is scattered with light, and see;
Uncanopied sleep is flying from field and tree;
And blossoming boughs of April in laughter shake,
Awake; O heart, to be loved, awake, awake!

These pictures were taken in our friends garden a few weeks ago

EVENING MEDITATION

We have been lucky enough to hear the cuckoo tonight - he has finally arrived. There were a lot of owls in the grounds of Treloyhan Manor and it was lovely hearing them throughout the night.

I have chosen a reading from my book called Light at Eventide by Kathleen Partridge:

 It is entitled Gifts of God

Giver of gifts and God of Creation
maker of laughter and tears,
All I ask is a happy heart
To carry me over the years.

A lively mind and a sense of fun
Wherever the future wends,
The courage to live and the grace to pray
And the love of a few good friends.

(The above picture was taken from the Tally Ho Inn, Nr Tenbury Wells where we called on Saturday night.
More about this place later in week)

ARRIVED BACK FROM CORNWALL SAFELY

Hello everyone, we have just arrived home safely from our travels. We will have a lot to say in the coming days and hopefully some lovely photos to share with you. We have visited many interesting places on our holiday. We stayed at Treloyhan Manor in St Ives, Cornwall. Our accommodation was excellent, the food was good and the organised walks couldn't have been better, added to this the sun shone all week and I think we look a lot better than we did at the start of our holiday. We stayed in a 13th century coaching inn called The Tally Ho last night which was near Tenbury Wells which is famous for its mistletoe and today have visited two interesting gardens Burford Hall and Attingham Hall & Park.
Glad to be home safely but not looking forward to work tomorrow and a whole week in work!
Little White Rabbit accompanied us on our travels and you will be able to catch up with him in the coming days.

CORNWALL HERE WE COME

We are off on our travels again tomorrow. This time we are going to St Ives in Cornwall for a week's walking holiday so Lost Password will not be updated unless Red Badger decides to put in an appearance. Will be back in one week. God bless.

EVENING MEDITATION

Taken from David Adam's Celtic Prayer book:

Grant to me O lord
An eye of vision
A sensitive mind
A gentle heart
And make me kind.

Grant to me O Lord
A discerning taste
A life of love
An awareness of You
And hope from above.

GOODBYE MALVERN AND FRIENDS

The weekend went too quickly and before we knew it we were leaving.

We saw these cattle on the way to and from the show.
Goodbye Sheila & Ernie, see you soon

LITTLE WHITE RABBIT VISITS MALVERN

Here we are in Malvern.When dinosaurs first walked the earth the rock of the Malvern Hills was already formed and it is to this ridge of rare pre Cambrian granite that the Malverns owe their magic, they are over 650,000,000 years old. The Malvern Hills take their name from the Anglo Saxon for bare hill, Moel Bryn.
Sir Edward Elgar lived in Malvern for thirteen years.

ASCENSION DAY - HOLY THURSDAY

It is Ascension Day. I have chosen an old Charles Wesley hymn for my morning meditation. I believe Jesus ascended into heaven. A view many dismiss today. We do not often sing this hymn nor do we celebrate Ash Wednesday and Ascension Day.

God is gone up on high,
With a triumphant noise;
the clarions of the sky
Proclaim the angelic joys!

God in the flesh below,
For us He reigns above;
Let all the nations know
Our Jesu's conquering love!

All power to our great Lord
Is by the Father given;
By angel hosts adored,
He reigns supreme in heaven.

High on his holy seat
He bears the righteous away;
His foes beneath His feet
Shall sink and die away.

His foes and ours are one,
Satan, the world, and sin;
But He shall tread them down,
And bring His kingdom in.

Till all the earth, renewed
In righteousness divine,
With all the hosts of God
In one great chorus join.

(Refrain:  Join all on earth, rejoice and sing;
Glory ascribe to glory's King).

God bless you today.
