The church of St Chad is steeped in history, a church has stood on the site since 1307 with the present building being the result of extensions in 1543 and 1925.
The Church is a grade II listed building and is surrounded by a conservation area.
Sadly the church was closed today, a sign of the times presumably because of the possibility of theft.
