We are now back from our visit to Trearddur Bay. We had a pleasant time and managed several walks. I am pleased to report that Robert seems to be improving at last and seems to be more like his old self. He goes back to Aintree Hospital tomorrow to see the doctor who operated on him. We hope he will have good news.
On our return we have heard that my cousin's Fred's wife in Canada has died and we think of him and his family. We have enjoyed several holidays with them.
I have chosen an old hymn for tonight's meditation. I took the photograph on our arrival in Anglesey on Friday.
Sun of my soul, Thou Saviour dear,
It is not night if Thou be near;
O may no earth-born cloud arise
To hide Thee from Thy servant's eyes.
When the soft dews of kindly sleep
My wearied eyelids gently steep,
Be my last thought, How sweet to rest
For ever on my Saviour's breast.
Abide with me from morn till eve,
For without Thee I cannot live;
Abide with me when night is nigh,
For without Thee I dare not die.
Watch by the sick; enrich the poor
With blessings from Thy boundless store;
Be every mourner's sleep tonight,
Like infant's slumbers, pure and light
Come near and bless us when we wake
Ere through the world our way we take.
Till in the ocean of Thy love
Till in the ocean of Thy love
We lose ourselves in heaven above.
Amen.
