VIEWS OF WIRKSWORTH

Wirksworth is a five minute drive from Matlock Bath, Derbyshire. The old silk mill is now home to Wirksworth Heritage centre.According to the information leaflet the story of Wirksworth has something to say to old and young about the fascinating, quirky, quaint and friendly Derbyshire town. Author George Eliot had connections with the town and set her famous novel Adam Bede here.We saw a very interesting old tool chest which had been in the Eliot family. I found the antique and junk shops fascinating.
