SUMMER WEEKEND IN PENYGROES, CAERNARFON

We have once again been to stay at Cae Mawr near Penygroes. Our friends were away and we were looking after their water spaniel Murphy. On Saturday we walked to a local vineyard and orchard, Pant Du where we were able to sample their cider and apple juice. www.pantdu.co.uk

OUR STAY AT KNOWLE FARM CL

Our caravan site last weekend was Knowle Farm CL near Hazlewood and Belper. It was a delightfully quiet site, complete with wild flower meadow full of buttercups and clover

TRIP TO THE PEAK DISTRICT - ASHBOURNE AND BELPER

Last weekend we visited Belper in the Peak District. I wanted to go to an Allison Uttley evening on Friday which was very good. Joyce Vartey read from some of Allison's essays and Pete Castle sang some folk songs. Our journey took us through Ashbourne. The pictures below depict some street scenes of Ashbourne and Belper. Belper was famous for its mills where stockings were made and also for its nails.
