On Saturday three gardens plus the peace garden were open in Kingsley to raise money for the current Hurst Project which is Air Ambulance. Over £2000 was raised which is a wonderful amount. The village came alive as many visitors walked from garden to garden and enjoyed lunch and afternoon tea at The Hurst Methodist Church, some sat at tables in the peace garden.
Kendal Caravan Club Site is in National Trust Woodland on the site of an old Gunpowder Mill, here are some pictures of the ruins. It was a delightful site full of wild flowers and bird song with the river running nearby. The mill was used to grind ingredients to make gunpowder.
